That’s for Jesus?

You guys, I am freaking out. I was sitting here trying to think of something to write about and my sweet two-year-old pulled up a chair next to me at the desk and asked, “That’s for Jesus?” “Yes!” I said through teary eyes. “You working for Him?” she continued. “Yes, I am.” How did she know what I was doing? She’s a bit spooky sometimes. Holy Ghost spooky of course.

I sit here most mornings trying to catch something He wants me to talk about and try not to put too much effort in since I‘m saved by grace by faith, not by works, but then enough effort in so that I can do all things as unto the Lord. You didn’t know I was a mental gymnast, did you? Running too far in one direction or stuck between five different ideas and worries.

Out of the mouths of babes, or one very plump toddler came some wisdom this morning. I write for Him, and no other, not even myself. It’s something I need to remember daily. I love Him and this started for Him but if I’m not careful I will write to please others or even myself. He loves it when I write and considers it a good work.

I must get low before Him and submit this ministry and this keyboard to Him. He has things to say.

Talk about the uncomfortable things.

Yes, Sir.

Rewrite that article that is full of judgement.

Yes, Master.

Do more, do less, take a week off, work on punctuation, and write more about how I love them.

Yes, Lord.

Jesus was mocked, stripped, beaten, bruised, whipped, crowned with thorns, and tortured to His death on a cross for you and me. He rose again and said to His people, let’s get to work. Tell everyone what I did, and what I have for them. So that’s what I’ll do. I’ll do this and more for Jesus. I’ll work for Him, out of gratitude for His perfect shed blood, the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, the redeemed connection to the Father, and the promise of eternity. I know I am headed for eternity with Christ. Let’s see how many people He allows me to bring with me
