We had the chance to visit the retreat center this weekend with most of the team. We toured the space and thought through room assignments, room locations, camp fires, walking paths, electronics, projectors, parking, and meals. We walked around and prayed inside then spent some time outside together.

It’s an amazing group of women who have committed to lead our first retreat and I have watched God put the team together piece by piece. Smart, beautiful, loving women of God just keep dropping out the sky when we need them! Even my own wonderful 13 year old was the photographer and lent her opinion while we met. Until the snacks ran out, of course.
Sometimes I wonder if I came up with this retreat or if God did. I know I have His permission and I can see Him moving so clearly but He leads so well I can’t always tell where the thought originated. Whether it was God’s idea or He let me dream this up, a wise woman keeps reminding me of what scripture has to say about new ventures.
Proverbs 16:3
Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.
Give it up! Hand it over! Don’t be the boss! Scripture tells us over and over again. Give God your life, body, worries, resources, time, praise, glory, and plans. Not only can He do far better than we could ever do with them, but they actually belong to Him!
For from him and through him and for him are all things.
Romans 11:36
To him be the glory forever! Amen.

So as each woman plans what she will teach, preach, share, sing, or coordinate she should commit it to the Lord. “It’s yours, Lord, what do you want to do with it?” And as each woman registers and packs her linens and bags for the weekend she should commit it to the Lord. “The weekend is yours, Lord, what do you want to do with it?”
“To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb
Revelations 5:13
be praise and honor and glory and power,
for ever and ever!”
