Today’s post is simply a song that has been playing on my mind so frequently that I believe it’s something God is teaching me. Trust and Obey was written by Professor Daniel Towner and John Sammis of the Moody Bible Institute in 1887 after hearing a recently converted man say, “I am not quite sure – I am going to trust and obey.”1
I know I am not the only person that this sentiment speaks deeply to. When I’m not quite sure, I should just trust and obey. Read or Listen Here.2
Trust and Obey
When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will, He abides with us still
And with all who will trust and obeyTrust and obey, for there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obeyNot a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies
But His smile quickly drives it away
Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh or a tear
Can abide while we trust and obeyOh, Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obeyThen in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way
What He says we will do, where He sends we will go
Never fear, only trust and obeyTrust and obey, for there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey
