Read More About Peace!
If you want to learn more about Peace here are six short scriptures to read over the week or all at once. None of these verses stand alone but are contained in chapters that will give them context. If you have the urge to learn more, I encourage you to open your Bible or Bible App and read the verses directly before and after the verses that are listed here.
Day 1
Who feels peace?
You will keep in perfect peace
those whose minds are steadfast,
because they trust in you. (Isaiah 26:3 ESV)
Day 2
Peace during war
I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33 ESV)
Day 3
Jesus, the Giver of Good Gifts
23 Jesus answered him, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. 24 Whoever does not love me does not keep my words. And the word that you hear is not mine but the Father’s who sent me.
25 “These things I have spoken to you while I am still with you. 26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. (John 14:23-27 ESV)
Day 4
Glory goes up, peace comes down
“Glory to God in the highest heaven and on earth, peace to those on whom his favor rests.” (Luke 2:14 NIV)
Day 5
What is the effect of righteousness?
15 until the Spirit is poured upon us from on high,
and the wilderness becomes a fruitful field,
and the fruitful field is deemed a forest.
16 Then justice will dwell in the wilderness,
and righteousness abide in the fruitful field.
17 And the effect of righteousness will be peace,
and the result of righteousness, quietness and trust forever.
18 My people will abide in a peaceful habitation,
in secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places. (Isaiah 32:15-18 ESV)
Day 6
The Christian’s Almanac
And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace. (James 3:18 ESV)
And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness. (James 3:18 NLT)
