Finally! Jesus’s favorite subject, Love. Megan and I give this subject a go and I hope you enjoy it.
Read More About Love
Instead of a checklist we have one go to word that helps us understand what to do in any situation. Love. What better word to read about in the Bible as we draw to the close of Advent and the celebration of the appearance of our God, made flesh, come to rescue us all.
Day 1
The Greatest Commandment
36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” 37 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.” (Matthew 22:36-40)
Day 2
A Love So Strong
1 How lovely is your dwelling place,
Lord Almighty!
2 My soul yearns, even faints,
for the courts of the Lord;
my heart and my flesh cry out
for the living God. (Psalm 84:1-2)
Day 3
What’s the Greatest Love?
12 “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. (John 15:12-13)
Day 4
They Will Know We are Christians by Our…
34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. 35 By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” (John 13:34-35)
Day 5
The Fruit of the Spirit’s Not a Coconut
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. (Galatians 5:22-23)
Day 6
Just a Review!
4 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant 5 or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; 6 it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. 7 Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. (1 Corinthian 13:4-7)
